Village of Pellston

The Village of Pellston was founded in 1895 and quickly expanded with the arrival of the railroad. Pellston became the metropolitan center of a great logging empire that stretched from Cincinnati to the Upper Peninsula. Poor forest management eventually caused the logging to fail, and most of the town was destroyed when fires consumed the logging mills in the 1930s.

Today Pellston is a beautifully quaint town nestled in the Maple River valley, hosts the regional school, airport, and fire station and offers numerous conveniences for travelers and locals, including a general store, dollar stores, a hardware store, post office, library, senior center, medical offices, bank (remote office), village hall, recreation areas, parks, and trails. Downtown Pellston is known for it’s vibrant antiques district and hosts the famous Antiques Art & Collectibles store.

Pellston is organized as village in Emmet County in Michigan, USA. The population was 822 in 2010 and Pellston is known as one of the fastest growing communities in Northern Michigan.
